About the Designer, Annsley Hill
From school projects to homemade birthday cards, from a young age, I have always adored creating and designing. I come from a large family, which means I grew up constantly surrounded by a lot of people, and a new project every day — I loved it. In my senior year of high school, I discovered the world wedding stationery and knew it was something that I needed to pursue — I was enamored from the minute I started. From that point on, I decided to pursue a graphic design major at Marymount University in Arlington, VA. While studying and working in college, I decided to get a start on my business. After creating my first wedding suite for a couple of friends, Annie Hill Design got its launch.
Inspiration for Design and Lettering
One of my favorite past times is antiquing. Almost every little thing in my home has come from.an antique or thrift store, and that is my favorite part about it. These things are so unique, hold history, and tell a story about where they came from. In fact, a lot the designs found in my work are influenced by the architecture and design found not only in history and books, but the wonderful “bric-a-brac” that I have sourced in my own life. From ornate frames, to different painting techniques, there is so much inspiration in each piece. Being surrounded by such beautiful work — and always being on the hunt for it — keeps my creativity sparked and allows Annie Hill Design to keep producing new, one-of-a-kind pieces for the one-of-a-kind days that are worth remembering.
